‘Inspire Korean companies to invest in Punjab’, CM Mann appeals to Punjabis of Seoul

Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who is on a visit to South Korea, met the expatriate Punjabi community in Seoul and called upon them to act as ‘(ambassadors) of Punjab. He said that Punjab is fast emerging as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world today and the Punjabis settled in Korea should, through their contacts, inspire Korean companies to invest in the state.

Investors already attracted towards Punjab- CM Mann

The Chief Minister said that due to industry-friendly policies and fast decisions, investors are already getting attracted towards Punjab. He said that Punjabis are entrepreneurs by birth and the overseas Punjabis should also contribute to the industrial development of their native land. Expressing emotional connect, he said that the government is providing every possible facility to the industries and now it is the turn of the overseas Punjabis to participate in the development of the state.

Big step towards Rangla Punjab

Mann said that this will create new employment opportunities for the youth and will be a big step towards ‘Rangla Punjab’. He praised the hard work, identity and cultural commitment of the Punjabi community at the global level and appealed to Korean companies to play an active role in showing the way for investment in Punjab.

Investment of more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore assured

Clarifying his vision, the Chief Minister said that his priority is policy stability, quick decisions and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors. He mentioned steps like Fasttrack Punjab single-window system, auto-deemed approval of 173 services and improvement in business processes. He said that investment of more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore has been ensured through Invest Punjab.

The expatriate community in Seoul warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and his team and expressed hope that the visit will give new dimensions to Punjab-South Korea relations. Many industrialists and scholars expressed their desire to increase cooperation in areas like food processing, defense and aerospace in Punjab.

What will happen during the journey?

During the visit, the Punjab delegation will meet big companies like Daewoo E&C, GS E&C and Nongshim and will provide information to Korean investors about the ease of doing business in Punjab. After this, high-level discussions will be held in Pangyo Techno Valley and Korea Defense Industry Association, in which new opportunities for technology, defense and industrial cooperation will be explored.
