Chhattisgarh News: The process of purchasing paddy at support price is continuing at a rapid pace in the state. According to the report released on December 5 at 10 am in the paddy procurement campaign that started from November 14 last month, more than 22 lakh 39 thousand 433 lakh metric tons of paddy has been purchased. Till now 4 lakh 39 thousand 511 registered farmers have sold paddy. In lieu of paddy purchase, Rs 5277 crore has been released by Markfed for payment to farmers under bank linking system. This year, 27 lakh 30 thousand 96 farmers have registered for the current Kharif season, which covers 31 lakh 51 thousand 771 hectare area.

Paddy procurement is going on in all the districts in the state. Till now, Mahasamund district is at the first position in paddy procurement by purchasing maximum 15 lakh 19 thousand 650 quintals of paddy. Whereas Gariaband district is at second position purchasing 6 lakh 73 thousand 495 quintals of paddy. Similarly, Bilaspur district has secured third position by purchasing 6 lakh 73 thousand 65 quintals of paddy. However, Kanker district remains at fourth position by purchasing 6 lakh 15 thousand 431 quintals of paddy. Districts that have purchased more than five lakh quintals of paddy include Dhamtari and Mungeli districts, while districts that have purchased more than four lakh quintals include Surajpur, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Bementara, Balod and Kondagaon. So far 8 lakh 97 thousand 779 tokens have been issued to farmers. On the next day, 8th December, 50 thousand 234 tokens have been issued to the farmers for purchasing paddy. Farmers are getting a lot of convenience from the Token Tuhar App online system started this year. Farmers are satisfied with all the necessary arrangements being made by the committees. State and district level teams formed by the state government are keeping a strict vigil on illegal paddy transportation, storage and sale in the state including the border areas of the state.
It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, along with the purchase of paddy, payment of support price to the farmers has also been started. Chhattisgarh government has already given a bank guarantee of Rs 26,200 crore to Markfed for payment of the price of paddy purchased from the farmers of the state. Adequate arrangements have been made in all the centers so that farmers do not face any problem in selling paddy. Officers have been deployed in all the centers to monitor the arrangements for paddy procurement. Senior state level administrative officers and district level officers are continuously visiting and taking stock of paddy procurement and arrangements at the centres. Strict monitoring is also being done to ensure that there are no irregularities in the purchase of paddy at support price in the state. Officers have been deployed at the checkpost to prevent the arrival of paddy from outside. Surprise checks of vendors are also being conducted at various places.

Farmers believe that the online system of Token Tunhar App launched by the state government for purchasing paddy is making it easier to obtain tokens and sell paddy. Due to the efficient leadership and farmer-friendly policies of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the farmers have got the remunerative price for their hard work and the respect of the farmers has also increased. Let us tell you that as per its announcement, the government is purchasing paddy at the rate of 21 quintal support price per acre and Rs 3100 per quintal under the Krishi Unnati Yojana.
