On this day, devotees especially observe fast, perform puja and wish to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. There is a religious belief that the devotion and sadhana done on Monday fulfills the wishes and brings happiness and prosperity in life.

Fasting on Monday not only gives mental peace, but by worshiping Lord Shiva one also gets the blessing of getting rid of the troubles of life.
