Winter Session 2025 : New Delhi : The Parliament is currently in winter session. In this year’s winter session (Winter Session) Delhi terror attack, security of the country will be discussed on many important issues. But at the same time Vande Mataram song will be discussed in Parliament for 10 hours. The discussion will be held on the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram”. Today (D.08) Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) The debate on “Vande Mataram” will begin in the Lok Sabha.
This discussion is expected to reveal many important and unknown facts about the national anthem. Moreover, the talks are likely to get messy, as the Prime Minister has already accused the Congress of removing the last lines from the song. Monday’s Lok Sabha agenda lists the item “Discussion on the 150th Anniversary of the National Anthem Vande Mataram”. Also, 10 hours have been allotted for the discussion. Prime Minister Modi will open the discussion, while Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be the second speaker. Several MPs from the opposition are expected to participate, including Gaurav Gogoi and Priyanka Gandhi, the deputy leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha.

Rajya Sabha will also discuss this issue. After the Lok Sabha, a discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’ will also take place in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, where Home Minister Amit Shah will open the discussion and Health Minister and Rajya Sabha Leader JP Nadda will be the second speaker. The discussion between the two houses will highlight the historical and cultural significance of ‘Vande Mataram’, a symbol of Indian nationalism.
Chances of confusion in Parliament
There is also the possibility of a political uproar during the debate on Vande Mataram, as the Prime Minister has already accused the Congress of removing verses from the song. It was decided to discuss the issue in a meeting of ruling and opposition leaders on December 2 under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The meeting decided to discuss ‘Vande Mataram’ and electoral reforms next week, raising the possibility of smooth functioning of Parliament. A positive discussion is expected instead of chaos.

‘Vande Mataram’ was written in cultured Bengali by the great writer Bankimchandra Chatterjee in the 1870s. This song is part of his famous novel “Anandmath”, which was first published in 1882. This song was composed by Jadunath Bhattacharya. “Vande Mataram” became a major source of inspiration in the Indian freedom movement, uniting millions of revolutionaries. With the establishment of the Republic of India in 1950, it was adopted as the national anthem.
Commemorative coin and stamps issued
The Central Government has issued a special commemorative coin and stamps to honor its cultural heritage, on the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram”. Prime Minister Modi described it as an immortal legacy of the freedom struggle and said that the song evokes a sense of patriotism. BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “Today, on the occasion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, the issue will be discussed in Parliament and we will also get to hear the Prime Minister’s speech.” The country is eager and excited to listen to them… Today, in the first quarter of the 21st century, the youth of the country will undoubtedly get the energy and inspiration of the freedom struggle.
