Pakistan UK Grooming Gang Extradition Deal: In exchange for taking back the notorious Pakistani grooming gang criminals who have served their sentences in Britain. It was told that the two people whose return Pakistan wants include Shahzad Akbar (special assistant to former Prime Minister Imran Khan) and Adil Raja (former Pakistani Army officer and now whistleblower). Both are living a life of exile in Britain since April 2022 and have been continuously criticizing Army Chief Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif government. Pakistan alleges that these people are spreading propaganda against state institutions from abroad.

A network of Pakistani-origin grooming gangs, active in Britain since the 1990s, mainly targeted minor white girls. These girls were first emotionally trapped, then drugged, then gang-raped and handed over to each other. Why was Pakistan not taking these criminals till now?

International Human Rights Foundation has called it Transnational Repression. The organization says that Adil Raja was given a sentence of 14 years without legal process. Neither did he get a chance to defend himself nor was he given a lawyer. The organization has appealed to Britain not to hand over such a person to Pakistan where he is at risk of political torture.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk had claimed on X that about 2.5 lakh children in Britain have become victims of this network. He had also talked about funding the legal fight regarding this. There is no formal Extradition Treaty between Pakistan and Britain. Extradition may only be possible in certain circumstances under section 194 of the UK Extradition Act 2003.
