Navi Mumbai, December 8, 2025 : Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai Today, Billion Hearts Beating Foundation organized a press event to officially launch three advanced life-support ambulances. The initiative aims to increase the capacity of emergency medical services in the region and provide timely treatment to patients in critical condition. These ambulances have already been used in special medical camps in Navi Mumbai and have served more than 23 thousand people so far.

A life-saving service

Mr. Arunesh Punetha, Western Division-CEO, Apollo Hospitals said, “Strengthening the chain of emergency services both in and out of the hospital has always been our main objective. The addition of these advanced life-support ambulances will greatly enhance our ability to reach patients in the early stages that are critical to saving lives. This is a great example of what can be done for society when healthcare organizations and philanthropic organizations come together.”

Ms. Sudha Zijaria, Head of CSR Operations, Billion Hearts Beating expressed, “We measure success by how fast aid reaches the needy. These ambulances will bridge the critical gap between medical emergencies and treatment—from hospitals to homes, from cities to communities, ensuring our mission.”

While highlighting the importance of pre-hospital care, the Director of Emergency Department of Apollo Hospitals, Western Region, Dr. Nitin Jagasia said, “Emergency treatment begins when the first call for help is received, not upon arrival at the hospital. These ambulances are mobile intensive care units ready to provide specialist treatment in the first critical life-saving moments. This collaboration will broaden our services and enable us to achieve our mission of saving time and saving lives.”
