New Delhi: A fan’s shocking stage invasion at Kanika Kapoor’s concert has left everyone stunned. The popular Bollywood singer was performing when an overzealous fan rushed up, grabbed her legs, and tried to lift her.

Kanika Kapoor attacked during concert

Kanika Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s top singers with a massive fan following, faced a terrifying incident during her live concert last night.  The fan breached security, jumped on stage, and grabbed her legs in an attempt to pick her up. Luckily, Kanika’s security team acted fast, pulling the man away and removing him from the stage.

Despite the shock, Kanika kept her cool and continued singing without missing a beat. Fans captured the dramatic moment on video, which quickly spread across social media platforms. Netizens expressed horror over the security lapse, with one user commenting, “In India, women are not safe even on stage in front of several people with such a limelight”. Another added, “If a woman in front of thousands isn’t safe, what hope is there for the ones walking alone? Teach sons respect — that’s the real solution”.

A third fan was blunt, writing, “WTF was he trying to do, lift her/ molest her/ hug her, no respect, such people should be sent to jail”. The incident has reignited debates on better security at concerts, especially for female performers.

This comes soon after Kanika made headlines for her bold claims about singers’ pay in Bollywood. In a chat with Uorfi Javed, she revealed, “Singers don’t really get paid. Main saare contracts dikhaati hu, 101 rupees milte hain. (I can show you all the contracts. I was paid Rs 101.” She added that even top singers get no royalties or publishing rights, stating, “There is nothing like that in India today.”

Kanika further explained the harsh reality, saying, “Only if you are alive and you can sing, if your voice is working, and you are able to perform shows. Jab tak aap shows kar rahe hain, tab tak aapko paise milenge. happens tomorrow, there’s no pension plan for singers).

The concert breach has put the spotlight back on Kanika’s resilience amid controversies. As videos continue to trend, authorities may investigate the security failure. Fans hope for stricter measures at future events to protect artists like her.
