But I am a representative of the public – not an artist. Also said that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji gave a speech in the program organized on the anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’. Modi ji said in his speech – In 1896, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore ji sang the song ‘Vande Mataram’ for the first time in a convention. But the Prime Minister could not tell that it was a Congress session – what was Narendra Modi shying away from?
Priyanka Gandhi further said that Congress is for the country, BJP is for elections… We will keep fighting with you and your ideology for this soil. You can’t stop us. Vande Mataram is sung collectively in every session of the Congress. The question is: Is Vande Mataram sung in BJP-RSS conventions or not? BJP is committing a sin by disputing this great mantra of the country’s soul, but the Congress party will not indulge in this sin. This national song ‘Vande Mataram’ has always been dear to us, has always been sacred to us and will always remain sacred to us.
