Which fast can change fate? Premanand Maharaj told
In Hindu religion, fasting and penance have been given special spiritual importance. It is believed that fasting not only purifies the body and mind but also attracts positive energy, good luck and desired results in the life of the seeker. In this context, a video of famous storyteller Premanand Maharaj is being discussed a lot on social media these days. In this video, a devotee asks him a question which arises in the mind of every spirituality lover at some point of time.
Devotee’s question: Which fast brings blessings of God?
In the viral video, devotees humbly ask Premanand Maharaj as to which penance or which fast should be performed so that God is pleased and all the wishes of life are fulfilled. This question was not only the curiosity of the devotee, but is also the voice of all those who want to move forward on the spiritual path.
Maharaj answered this question with very simple, intuitive and profound spirituality. His answer can bring positive changes in any person’s life.
Guidance of Premanand Maharaj
In response to the devotee’s question, Maharaj explained the glory of two special fasts and also mentioned a sadhana which he considered to be the most effective spiritual practice.
1. Ekadashi fast
Maharaj first mentioned Ekadashi fast.
1. This date is considered dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
2. Fasting on Ekadashi makes the body light and the mind calm.
3. According to religious belief, Ekadashi fast purifies the soul of the seeker and provides mental stability.
2. Monday fast
He told that the second important fast is on Monday, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
1. Lord Shiva is worshiped in both the form of destroyer and benefactor.
2. By observing fast on Monday, the seeker gets freedom from difficulties and gets the desired results in life.
The biggest penance – Naam Jaap
Along with fasting, the sadhana which Premanand Maharaj described as the most effective is chanting the name of God.
1. Just observing a fast does not give complete results.
2. Unless a person chants the name of God, the mind cannot become pure.
3. Chanting the name calms the mind, increases inner strength and connects the seeker directly to God.
