Objection process on CAT 2026 provisional answer key started

The process of filing objection on the provisional answer key of CAT 2026 has started from today. Candidates can submit their objections at iimcat.ac.in till December 10, 2025. CAT 2026 Answer Key Objection Process: The process of filing objections on the provisional answer key of CAT 2026 has started today. Candidates can register their objections on the iimcat.ac.in website till December 10, 2025 to correct possible errors in the result of this examination conducted in CBT mode across the country. This year, 2.58 lakh candidates appeared in the examination held on November 30. IIM Kozhikode has clarified that the final answer key will be released only after reviewing the provisional objections. It is important for the candidates to lodge their objections on time.

Why is it necessary to object to the answer key?

With the help of provisional answer key, candidates can check their answers and if any error is found in any question, they can raise objection on it. This process helps the candidates to ensure the correct score.
IIM has clearly stated that the objection will be valid only if it is filed within the stipulated time limit. Apart from this, the response sheets of all the three slots have also been released, so that the candidates can see which answer they chose and whether it is right or wrong.

Result and scoring information

CAT 2026 result is likely to be declared in the first week of January 2026. The final answer key will be released after reviewing the provisional objections.
In CAT, 3 marks are given for the correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for the wrong answer. There is no negative marking on non-MCQ questions. On the basis of this score, admission is available in MBA and PGDM courses in top business schools of the country.

To raise objection, candidates should visit iimcat.ac.in website, click on login tab and login with registration number. After this, select the question on which you have objection and submit your objection. The process is simple and directly available online.
