An incident of attack during a bhajan-kirtan program has come to light from Pandara Road area of Delhi. Coconuts, stones and pieces of glass were thrown from above at the people sitting in the pandal, in which a 60-year-old woman was seriously injured. Police and forensic team have started investigation on the spot. Regarding this entire matter, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded strict action against the accused.
The last day of Radha Rani marriage festival was going on on Saturday evening at A-125, Pandara Road, Delhi. S.P. Bhajan-kirtan was organized on Sunday in a three-day religious program organized at Mani’s house. As soon as the darbar started at around 5 pm, a green coconut suddenly fell from the top of the pandal and directly hit the bhajan singer’s hand. At that time more than a hundred people were present in the pandal. Due to this there was chaos in the pandal. Somehow the situation was resolved.
60 year old woman injured
It is said that after this the situation worsened between 5:30 and 5:45. Within some time, a piece of stone fell into the pandal. Before people could understand, a piece of glass was also thrown from above which hit 60 year old Madhu Manocha on her face. Due to this she got badly injured and blood spread in the pandal. He was immediately taken to Apollo Hospital, where his treatment is ongoing. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot. The forensic team also collected samples from the spot.
Police detained 3 people
It is being told that there is a construction site just behind the venue, from where stones and glass pieces are alleged to have been thrown. The police have detained three laborers working at the construction site and started questioning them. CCTV cameras installed nearby are also being examined. Organizer SP Mani says that such an attack during a religious program is spreading panic among the local people. The victim’s family has lodged a written complaint with the police and at present the police is busy investigating the entire matter.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad demands action
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal has given information about this entire matter by posting on X. The place where a religious program was going on. Right next to it, construction of a building by a person from another community is going on. It is alleged that the people working in the building have carried out this attack. He has demanded strict action from Delhi Police regarding this entire matter.
