Kejriwal met farmers released from jail, said – ‘This struggle is the voice of entire Gujarat’
Gujarat News: On Monday, in Rajkot, Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal met the farmer families associated with the Haddad movement of Gujarat. During this, he honored those farmers who have recently been released after being jailed in allegedly false cases. Many senior leaders including party’s Gujarat in-charge Gopal Rai and MLA Gopal Italia were present in the program.
This movement is the voice of farmers – Kejriwal
Addressing the farmers, Kejriwal said that the Haddad movement is not the struggle of just one village, but is the voice of the farmers of entire Gujarat. He said that many farmers were only demanding their rights, but due to the strictness and action taken against them, this movement became a topic of discussion across the state. He told that 88 farmers were arrested during the movement, out of which 42 farmers have been released, while 46 are still in jail.
Team of lawyers ready
Kejriwal said that his party has prepared a team of lawyers, which is providing legal assistance to every farmer and efforts are on to get everyone out of jail. He said that this courage of the farmers is instilling courage in the people of the entire state and the movement has created a new feeling of unity across the state.
Referring to the works of his government in Delhi, he said that the reform initiatives on education and health became a cause of relief for the people. He said that his party has always stood with the poor and the common people and the same efforts will continue in future also.
Kisan Mahapanchayat will be organized on 14th December
In the program, Gopal Rai said that after the storm movement, farmers have gathered in large numbers in many districts of Gujarat and this movement has now taken a widespread form. He told that Kisan Mahapanchayat will be organized in Kutch on 14th December, in which a large number of farmers will participate. Gopal Rai said that the struggle of Haddad village has now become the identity of entire Gujarat and there is hope of major changes in the state by 2027.
