According to Bangladeshi media, a senior official of the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) said that the air ambulance has been given a landing slot at 8 am on Tuesday and the time of take-off of the plane has also been fixed at 9 pm on the same day. The report states that the Qatar government has arranged for this aircraft to carry Khaleda Zia, which has been taken on rent from Germany-based FAI Aviation Group. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda, 80, is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for almost two weeks. He is suffering from many serious diseases.
Earlier, there was a possibility of taking the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh to London by air ambulance on Friday morning. But, his party BNP later said that the arrival of the plane was delayed due to technical problems. Then the plan to take him on Sunday was also postponed. It is believed that Khaleda Zia is not capable of undertaking a long journey. Therefore the plan to take them is being postponed. The replacement air ambulance arranged by Qatar is equipped with critical-care equipment, including ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps and oxygen systems.
While taking Khaleda Zia to London, the air ambulance will have a staff of doctors, nurses and paramedics trained for intensive care. Even before this, Qatar had helped Khaleda. She went to London for treatment in the air ambulance of the private fleet of the Emir of Qatar.
