India got fine from ICC after winning the ODI series

Sports: The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa has ended. The second match of this series took place in Raipur, in which India was fined 10 percent of the match fee due to slow over rate. The match was won by South Africa, making the visiting team 1-1 in the series. However, India won the third match and won the series 2–1.

Indian team fined

Match referee Richie Richardson imposed the penalty as captain KL Rahul’s team bowled two overs less than the scheduled time. According to Rule 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, if a team does not complete the overs in the stipulated time, a fine of 5 percent of the match fee is imposed for each over.

Rahul accepted the mistake and punishment

Captain KL Rahul accepted his mistake and the penalty imposed, due to which there was no need for a formal hearing. The matter was reported by on-field umpires Rod Tucker, Rohan Pandit, third umpire Sam Nogasky and fourth umpire Jayraman Madangopal.

Rohit-Virat’s excellent form

Former captain Virat Kohli appeared in excellent form in this series. He scored consecutive centuries in the first two matches and scored an unbeaten 65 in the third ODI. Overall, Virat scored 302 runs in the series, which included two centuries and one half-century. He was named Player of the Series for his amazing performance.

Apart from this, India’s opener Rohit Sharma also batted excellently. He scored half-centuries twice in three matches and contributed significantly to the team’s victory. Now both the players will be seen playing in the ODI series against New Zealand in January. The three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand will start from January 11.

5 match T20 series

It is noteworthy that after the Test and ODI series, India has to play a 5-match T20 series against South Africa. The first T20 match will be played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on Tuesday, 9 December. This match will start at 7 pm Indian time, while the toss will take place at 6:30 pm.
