Rajnath Singh said during the special discussion – All generations should know about the political deception with ‘Vande Mataram’.

New Delhi, 8 December. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, during a special discussion organized on the completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ in the winter session of the Lok Sabha on Monday, said that ‘Vande Mataram’ is deeply connected with the history and present of India.

Rajnath Singh said that ‘Vande Mataram’ inspired the entire country to fight for freedom and shook the foundation of British rule. It was not limited to the Swadeshi movement of Bengal or any one election. He also reminded that ‘Vande Mataram Committee’ was formed at that time to awaken national consciousness. When the first national flag of India was prepared in the year 1906, ‘Vande Mataram’ was written in the middle of it. At that time a newspaper named ‘Vande Mataram’ was also published.

Not much justice was done to ‘Vande Mataram’as much as it should be

The Defense Minister said that ‘Vande Mataram’ was not given as much justice as it should have been. While ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ was completely ingrained in the national spirit, ‘Vande Mataram’ was deliberately pushed back. Addressing the Speaker of the House, he said that history has played a big betrayal with ‘Vande Mataram’ and every Indian should know about this injustice. He said that despite repeated attempts to prove it incomplete, the importance of ‘Vande Mataram’ never diminished. It is still alive in the hearts of crores of Indians.

‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ are the two eyes of Mother India.

He said – It is important to know the injustice done to ‘Vande Mataram’, so that the coming generations can also understand why efforts were made to weaken it. Today we are re-establishing the dignity of ‘Vande Mataram’. The issue of giving equal status to the national anthem and national song has also been put forward. According to him, ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ are the two eyes of Mother India. ‘Vande Mataram’ is not political in any way.

Rajnath Singh targeted Congress and alleged that ‘Vande Mataram’ was neglected and fragmented. In 1937, Congress had decided to disintegrate it on the same land on which it was created. He said that all generations should know about the political deceit and injustice done to ‘Vande Mataram’ as it was injustice not only to a song but also to the people of independent India.
