Punjab Congress suspends Navjot Kaur Sidhu

New Delhi: Punjab Congress has suspended Navjot Kaur Sidhu from the primary membership of the party. This action of Navjot Kaur, who had made serious allegations against several senior leaders including former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding, has increased the political heat. Citing ticket selling and personal desires, he said that these decisions are proving harmful for Punjab.

Meeting with the Governor and conditions

On Saturday, Navjot Kaur Sidhu met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. Answering the questions of journalists, she said that she will return to active politics only if Congress makes Sidhu the chief ministerial candidate. She also said that currently she is earning good money on TV. Navjot expressed that Sidhu has connections with Congress, but he is worried about his position in the opposition.

Allegations and reactions

Navjot Kaur Sidhu has made serious allegations against the party leaders while speaking several times. He also mentioned allegations of selling the chief ministerial chair for Rs 500 crore, though without naming the party. Recently, Sidhu has alleged nexus with party leaders at the national level, mentioning Amarinder Singh Raja Wading and Pratap Singh Bajwa. He also alleged transaction of Rs 5 crore in councilor election.
