Appearance of three bus terminals of Ranchi will change, CM Hemant Soren gave instructions; Hi-tech facilities will be available
All three bus terminals of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, will be equipped with resources and facilities as per national standards. ITI Bus Stand, Government Bus Depot and Birsa Munda Bus Terminal Khadgarha will be rejuvenated soon.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed for modernization, renovation and renovation of all these terminals in order to accelerate urbanization works. To start this work, a tender has been floated on the instructions of departmental minister Sudivya Kumar.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Urban Development and Housing Minister Sudivya Kumar has already given approval to spend a total of Rs 48.72 crore. In this, Rs 24.77 crore has been approved for ITI Bus Stand, Rs 20.19 crore for Government Bus Depot and Rs 3.76 crore for Birsa Munda Bus Stand. The Minister has instructed Departmental Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar to quickly execute the tender through JUDCO.

This bus stand, which currently has minimal facilities for passengers, will be developed in a modern form. It will be built on an area of three acres, with 2330 square meter ground floor and 880 square meter terminal building on the first floor. 13 bus ways will be built for the operation of buses and there will be standby parking facility for 35 buses.
The ground floor will have the facility of driver canteen, maintenance shed, guard room, sliding entry gate, air-conditioned waiting room, car, food kiosk, transport office, cafeteria, men’s and women’s toilets, auto and e-rickshaw parking.
On the first floor, there will be a restaurant, administrative building, ticket counter, four dormitories, guest rooms with lockers and landscaping for greenery. Operation of 416 buses per day has been ensured.
This depot is now in a dilapidated condition. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, it will be renovated as per Indian Road Congress standards at a cost of Rs 20.19 crore. The old building will be demolished and a new terminal building will be constructed. Here in the new building, facilities will be developed in 1771 square meter ground floor and 845 square meter first floor.

There will be provision for guard room, maintenance area and canteen. There will be facilities for the passengers like dormitory, guest room, waiting room, food kiosk, shaded bus-way, ticket counter, transport management office, help desk, 12 food kiosks, cafeteria, restaurant, toilets and sliding gates, car and auto stand. About 512 buses will operate daily through eight bus ways.
This bus stand will be made more convenient at a cost of Rs 3.76 crore. Spread over 11.6 acres, this complex will have 31 bus ways, parking for 89 buses and 70 cars, smart shed, 50-bed dormitory, restroom, bathroom, guesthouse, highmast light, boundary wall and special arrangements for women’s safety.
Water proofing of the terrace area, new plaster and painting of the old terminal building, replacement of damaged tiles, replacement of all water taps, CCTV, new furniture, two high volume, low speed fans will be installed.
Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar has instructed JUDCO to start the work by immediately executing the tenders for all three bus terminals. After the completion of these projects, Ranchi’s bus terminal will be seen to be of not only state but also national level model standard, where passengers will get better experience of safety, cleanliness and modern facilities.
