New Zealand is calling! Government started 2 new work visas, get job without giving English test – ..
Do you dream of working in New Zealand, one of the most beautiful countries in the world? If your answer is ‘yes’, then this news is for you. New Zealand needs a large number of seasonal workers for jobs like farming, tourism and the hotel industry, and you too can get this opportunity.
To make it easier for people to come and work in New Zealand, the Government has introduced two special new work visas. The purpose of these visas is to ease the recruitment process for both companies and workers. Applications for these have also started.
These are the two new visas:
- Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV)
- Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV)
Let us know about them in detail.
1. GWSV Visa: For long-term work
This visa is for those who want to stay in New Zealand for a long time and do seasonal work. Its special features are:
Easy rules for companies: To hire under this visa, companies will not have to prove that they have not found any employee at the local level. They can recruit directly from abroad.
Experience condition: This visa will be available only to those foreign workers who have experience of seasonal work for at least 3 years in the last 6 years.
Visa duration: This visa is issued for 3 years at a time, which provides stability.
Rules for staying outside the country: Those who get this visa will be required to stay outside New Zealand for at least 3 months every year.
No worries about English test: You do not need to give any English language test for this visa.
Health and character certificate required: You will need a health and character certificate to prove your eligibility.
2. PSV Visa: When there is more work
This visa is for short-term jobs when the demand for workers in New Zealand suddenly increases. Its requirements are slightly more stringent than GWSV:
Locals First: Before hiring a foreign worker under this visa, the company must prove that they have advertised the job locally.
Experience Requirement: Applicants must have at least one season’s work experience in the last 3 years.
Visa duration: This visa is only valid for 7 months, making it perfect for short-term work.
Health insurance is necessary: If the job is for more than 3 months, you must have health insurance.
No English Test Required: There is no English language test required for this visa.
What kind of jobs are available?
Many types of work can be found under these visas, such as:
- oyster farmers
- calf raisers and milkers
- forest workers (forestry workers)
- Meat and seafood processing work
- work in wine factories
- wool handling
If you are eligible for any of these jobs, you can apply directly on the New Zealand Immigration website.
