Delhi: Australia captain Pat Cummins has returned to the team for the third Ashes Test which will start from December 17 at Adelaide Oval. He could not play the first two Tests because his back injury had not completely healed. Josh Hazlewood is already out due to injury, so the return of Cummins will make the team’s bowling stronger.
Khawaja returns with Cummins
Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald said that Cummins was close to playing in the second Test, but due to more time between the second and third matches, he got complete rest. He said that now Cummins will be available and his return will bring a change in the bowling combination of the team.
Along with him, experienced batsman Usman Khawaja has also been included in the team. Khawaja suffered a neck strain in the first Test, due to which he did not play the second Test. The coach says that Khawaja will remain fit and after that the batting and bowling combination will be decided after seeing the pitch.
Australia is currently very close to winning the Ashes series. The team has won the first two tests and has completely dominated England. If Australia wins the third test also then it will win the series. Now it remains to be seen whether England is able to make a comeback or not.
