India’s dominance in ICC ODI rankings: Rohit Sharma remains at the top, Virat Kohli at second position Gujarati

New Delhi: India’s star batsman Virat Kohli has once again proved his dominance in one-day cricket. India is maintaining its dominance among batsmen in the latest ICC one-day rankings. Virat Kohli has jumped two places to reach second position among batsmen. Due to Kohli’s excellent performance in recent times, his ranking has improved. After becoming ‘Player of the Series’ in the three-match series against South Africa, he is now just eight rating points away from the number one position. Kohli had scored a total of 302 runs including two centuries in three one-day matches against South Africa. In the last ODI of the series, he led India to victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 65 runs. As a result of this performance, he has moved up two places to reach second position.

Former Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has been consistently performing well in ODIs during 2024 and 2025. He scored 146 runs in the series against South Africa and maintained his top ranking (number-1). Shubhman Gill may not have played in the one-day series, but he has maintained his fifth position. K.L. took over the captaincy against South Africa. Rahul has jumped two places and reached 12th position.

India’s dominance has also been seen in the one-day bowling rankings. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav has moved up three places to reach third position. Axar Patel (13), Arshdeep Singh (20) and Jasprit Bumrah (25) have gained positions in the T20I rankings. Among Test batsmen, Yashasvi Jaiswal remains unchanged at eighth position, while Shubhman Gill and Rishabh Pant have moved up one place each to reach 11th and 13th positions. Jasprit Bumrah remains at the first position in the list of Test bowlers. Apart from him, Mohammad Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav have also moved up one place each. The rankings of South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram and Temba Bavumani have also improved. On the other hand, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has jumped to third place in the Test rankings by taking 18 wickets in two matches in the Ashes.
