Good News! Roads of Delhi and Goa became safe, huge reduction in road accidents, accident and death figures of 10 big states including UP-Bihar.

Thousands of road accident cases are reported every day across the country. In the year 2024, many road accidents have been seen across the country. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had told in Parliament that in the year 2024, 1.77 lakh people have lost their lives in road accidents across the country. Earlier, the death toll in 2023 was 1.73 lakh. However, there is good news for many states. There has been a decline in road accidents in states like Goa and Delhi.

While answering the question of Narayan Das Gupta, the Road Transport Minister said that 487705 road accidents were registered in 2024. Earlier in the year 2023, the number of these accidents was 480583. Even though the number of accidents has increased in the entire country, the cases have decreased in Delhi. Here in the year 2023, 5834 accidents were recorded, whereas if we talk about the year 2024, there has been a slight decrease, 5657 have been recorded.

A slight decrease has also been seen in Goa. In the year 2024, 2682 accidents have been registered here. Whereas if we talk about 2023, their number was 2846. The number of road accidents has increased in Assam, Bihar and Kerala.

Highest number of road accidents in Madhya Pradesh

The cases of road accidents have increased rapidly in different states of the country. However, the increasing number of road accidents in Madhya Pradesh has troubled everyone. In the year 2024, 56669 road accidents have been recorded in MP alone. Apart from this, 14,791 people have also died in these road accidents. These figures indicate a crisis in Madhya Pradesh.

Least number of road accidents occurred in this state

India’s smallest union territory Lakshadweep has not recorded a single road accident in the year 2024. If we talk about earlier, only one road accident was recorded in 2023. Mizoram is at second place where the least number of road accidents has been recorded at 118. However, according to earlier data, an increase has been registered.
