Attacked regarding selection in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (Pondicherry)

According to an Indian Express report, on Monday (08 December), Puducherry Cricket Association Under-19 head coach S Venkataraman was attacked with a bat by three players inside the association’s training facility because he was not selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

FIR of the case has been registered at Cedarpet Police Station. The report said that Sub-Inspector S Rajesh said that the three accused players are absconding and efforts are on to find them. Let us tell you that coach Venkataraman has named Karthikeyan Jayasundaram, A Aravindraj, and S Santosh Kumaran as the accused.

Apart from this, the coach also alleged that the three players attacked on the instructions of G Chandran, secretary of Bharathidasan Pondicherry Cricketers Forum. However, Bharathidasan Forum refuted this allegation and said that Venkataraman had a long history of disputes with local players and that he had misbehaved with them.
