South Africa Avenge Barabati Rout With 51-Run Win In 2nd T20I Vs India; SKY & Gill Flop Again

New Chandigarh: South Africa roared back into the T20 International series against India in style after the 101-run hammering they experienced two nights ago at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium.

India’s bowlers, especially the pacers, as well as the batters flopped to help South Africa coast to a 51-run victory here on Thursday evening.

After the Proteas were powered by Quinton de Kock (90 off 46 balls) to a massive 213/4, helped by poor efforts from Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, Team India floundered on a good batting track to be bowled out for 162.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav aka SKY did well to win a toss, but came up short with the bat once again, falling for 4. It was his 12th single-digit score in his last 21 T20I innings. Vice-captain Shubman Gill also flopped, compounding problems for coach Gautam Gambhir.

On a night when South Africans smashed sixes at will, only Tilak Varma stood out for the hosts with a 34-ball 62 (2×4, 5×6).
