Kia has introduced the new generation 2026 Kia Seltos in India, while Tata Motors’ Tata Sierra has been in the news for its bold design and premium features. Both the SUVs compete strongly in the mid-size SUV segment. So let’s find out which of these SUVs is more powerful.
Whose features are heavier?
The company has provided many hi-tech and premium features in the new Kia Seltos. The SUV comes with a 30-inch twin display setup, which includes a digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment screen. Apart from this, features like wireless charger, ventilated seats, 10-way powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, 8 speakers by Bose, panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS make it more attractive.

Tata Sierra on the other hand is more premium in terms of features. It gets LED projector headlight, connected LED taillight, flush door handle, triple-screen setup, 360° camera, blind-spot monitor, Hypr HUD, dual-zone climate control, 12-speaker Dolby Atmos system and the largest panoramic sunroof in the segment. Along with that, rear sunshade, air purifier, cooled glove box and powered tailgate are also available. So Tata Sierra is clearly ahead of Seltos in terms of features.
Who is stronger in terms of engine performance?
In terms of engines the new Kia Seltos comes with three options, 1.5L Petrol (115 PS), 1.5L Turbo Petrol (160 PS) and 1.5L Diesel (116 PS). It gets all the transmission options like Manual, IVT, IMT and Automatic.
Tata Sierra also offers three engine options, 1.5L Turbo Petrol (160 PS), 1.5L Revotron Petrol (106 PS) and 1.5L Diesel (118 PS). Interestingly, the Sierra’s diesel engine delivers 280 Nm of torque, which is more than the Seltos. This makes the Sierra stronger when it comes to diesel performance.

Which SUV is bigger?
Dimensions wise the Kia Seltos measures 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, while the wheelbase is 2,690 mm. While the Tata Sierra measures 4,340 mm in length, it has a width of 1,841 mm and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. That is, while the Seltos is longer and a bit narrower, the Sierra offers more cabin space thanks to its larger wheelbase.
price?
Tata Sierra is priced between 11.49 lakh and 18.49 lakh. The price of the new Kia Seltos will be announced on January 2, 2026, but it is expected to have a higher starting price than the Sierra.
