The country’s largest airline IndiGo has announced additional compensation after reimbursing passengers affected by the recent crisis. This discount will be available only to select passengers.
After the migrant crisis Indigohas announced a travel voucher worth Rs 10,000 for passengers. IndiGo issued a statement saying, “Taking care of passengers is our top priority. After the disruption in operations, we have ensured that all necessary refunds have been initiated for the canceled flights. Refunds have been credited to the accounts of most of the customers and those who have not received refunds will receive them soon.” Additionally, those affected will get vouchers ranging from Rs 5,000 to 10,000 and compensation.
“IndiGo acknowledges that some of our customers traveling on December 3, 4 and 5, 2025 were stranded at some airports for several hours and many were severely inconvenienced due to congestion. We will provide travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to these severely affected customers,” the company said in a statement. It added, “These travel vouchers can be used for any future IndiGo travel within the next 12 months.” Compensation is different from what is promised to passengers as per government guidelines. The flights of these passengers were canceled within 24 hours of departure. The compensation was between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000.

Meanwhile, according to sources, IndiGo has canceled 60 flights from Bengaluru airport today. On Thursday, the airline announced plans to operate more than 1,950 flights.
