But UIDAI has now taken cognizance of the public and has started such a facility (service) by which your work can be done while sitting on the sofa of your home. The postman brought the mail, now he will also make ‘Aadhaar’! Yes, you read it right. UIDAI has entered into a special agreement with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). Under this, you no longer need to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, rather the ‘Seva Kendra’ will come to you on its own. The Postman or Gramin Dak Sevak of your area will now come to your home with a smartphone and biometric device and update your mobile number. This is called “Doorstep Banking Service”. What is the process? (How to do it?)This method is very easy. All you have to do is visit the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) website or call their customer care number and place a ‘Service Request’. Book an appointment online or over call. The postman will come to your home at your given time. He will ask for your Aadhaar number and new mobile number. Biometric verification will be done. That’s it, you’re done! For this, there will be a small government fee (perhaps Rs 50), which you will have to pay there itself. It will also become the Aadhaar for children. Not only for adults, this service is also for children below 5 years of age. If there is a small child in your house whose Aadhaar (Baal Aadhaar) has not been made yet, then there is no need to worry about that too. The postman will come home and do the Aadhaar enrollment of the child. Why is the number updated necessary? Friend, we all know that if the mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, then neither OTP comes nor any work is done online. From opening a bank account to paying income tax, ‘OTP’ is required everywhere. So if your or anyone in your family’s number is not linked, or the number has changed, then this is a ‘golden chance’.
