The beginning of the actor’s film career

Before joining the film industry, Rajinikanth was a bus conductor. He became famous for his stylish ticket checking style. He then decided to enter films and studied acting at the Madras Film Institute. Before entering films, Rajinikanth’s name was Shivaji Rao Gaikwad and his father was a police head constable. In 1975, the actor got his first role, making his debut in the film industry with a supporting role in the film “Apoorva Ragangal”.

After playing supporting roles, Rajinikanth went on to play lead roles in the 1978 films Mullum Malaram and Aval Appadithan. These films brought him wide fame. A string of excellent films followed, including films like ‘Billa’ and ‘Moondru Mugam’. As the actor began to be appreciated for delivering one hit film after another, he was nicknamed ‘Thalaiva’ by his fans, which means leader or boss. Even today, the actor is known by the same name.

Rajinikanth is an actor who has made a name for himself in both the South and Bollywood industries. The actor made his Bollywood debut with the film “Andha Kanun” and it is notable that Amitabh Bachchan himself suggested Rajinikanth’s name to the makers. With his first Bollywood film, Rajinikanth made a name for himself in Hindi cinema. This year Rajinikanth’s film “Coolie” collected a record ₹518 crore at the box office and made it to the top four films of the year.
