Anna Hazare is going to go on hunger strike again, know what is his demand?
Anna Hazare Protest: Social worker Anna Hazare has once again raised his voice. Now they can go on hunger strike once again. Social worker Anna Hazare has expressed his displeasure over the functioning of the Mahayuti government. He said that the Lokayukta law has not yet been implemented in Maharashtra, due to which he will start the hunger strike again. Hazare said that if a strong Lokayukta law is not enacted in the state, then we have no desire to live.
In fact, due to non-implementation of Lokayukta Act in Maharashtra, Hazare has announced to start a hunger strike from January 30, 2026. He has demanded implementation of Lokayukta law in Maharashtra. They will go on hunger strike in Ralegan Siddhi. Anna said that we are demanding justice for the people. We will fight for this. Anna Hazare has also made it clear that this will be his last hunger strike.

Anna Hazare has also written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this regard. He said in his letter that despite the approval of the Assembly, Legislative Council and the Governor, the Lokayukta Bill is pending for two years. This is not a personal issue. This is a public issue against corruption. He said that the government does not have the will. They will go on a hunger strike in Ralegan Siddhi from January 30.
Bill passed from Maharashtra Assembly in 2022
Let us tell you, the Maharashtra government had got the Lokayukta bill passed by the Legislative Assembly on 28 December 2022 and by the Legislative Council on 15 December 2023. Till now it has not been implemented, due to which Anna has now decided to start a fast. After being approved in both the Houses, it was to be implemented as ‘Maharashtra Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta Act, 2022’. However, this bill has not been implemented, due to which Anna Hazare is once again warning of a fast.
What is the benefit of this bill?
If a strong Lokayukta Act is implemented in Maharashtra, then this new law will strengthen the anti-corruption system of the state. According to this Act, a former Chief Justice of the High Court, a former judge of the Supreme Court or a judge of the Bombay High Court can be the Lokayukta. The Prevention of Corruption Act has now come under the purview of Lokayukta.
