Modern life, simple solutions: Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar’s yogic path to discipline, strength and joy

New Delhi: In the modern world, where we are running after deadlines, digital fatigue, and constant stress of competition or to be the best, especially with the kids or the younger generation and working professionals these days, they find themselves battling rising waves of anxiety, stress and even depression in many forms. The urge to ‘Stay-on’ without taking yourself down and keeping up with mental health, as well as wellness, is now dominating the world.

Yoga, an ancient practice, has now re-emerged in the modern world with modern techniques and tricks to help you keep calm, composed and find your inner self while focusing more on the core. Yoga does not require long hours, retreats or complicated postures if you are someone beginning your journey, shares Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar. Simple, adaptable practices can go a long way to help you find who you truly are and make your mind calmer and at peace.

How Gen Z can adapt yoga in simpler ways

We had a chance to converse with yoga expert, Himalayan Siddhaa Aksar, during his yoga retreat for foreign students, and during the conversation, we gained insights into modern world problems and their solutions through Yoga. Upon asking how people can see yoga as a spiritual discipline, more than just fitness.

He shares, “Gen Z is naturally drawn to spirituality, and they easily understand modern ideas like parallel universes and time concepts. So, entering spirituality isn’t hard for them. What holds them back are life’s everyday challenges, which can stop anyone. With the right training, yoga gives inner strength. And when you become strong from within, you can handle anything. That’s how yoga should be learned and practised today.”

Himalayan Siddhaa shares beginner-friendly yoga practice

“If someone has almost no time, they can try a very easy practice called the healing walk. Just raise your hands and walk for 2–3 minutes — it refreshes the mind instantly and removes heaviness,” he adds.

If they have 5–8 minutes, they can do the Siddha Walk or Infinity Walkwhere you walk in an eight-shaped path. It feels playful, like a small game, but it activates every muscle and every cell of the body from head to toe. These quick practices are enough to energise the body and calm the mind, even on the busiest days.

Yoga for busy people

For someone who has been busy or not able to focus and needs to find inner peace, it is important to understand that healing is required not only of the body, but mind, heart and body; all three dimensions require focus. The person needs to adapt two simple practices and be consistent to achieve the results.

Himalayan Siddhaa sahres, the first practice is Surya Namaskar, a 5-minute practice, each morning with the rising sun that you can follow consistently to see the power your body can gain, in regular discipline. Second is Siddha Abhayas, the actual formula requires 28-30 minutes, but for people with busy schedules, it can be done in easy steps for 2 minutes to completely transform the body, as it helps strengthen the backspine.

Akshar Yoga recently launched the #IndiaBreatheAgain campaign, urging people to spend just 60 seconds a day on breathing exercises. This simple practice can strengthen the lungs and boost immunity, showing how small daily habits can make a big difference to overall health.

With a busy schedule and modern world problems, all you need is to tweak and add discipline to your life through yoga for healing the inner as well as the outer self.
