Complete ban on strike in UP for six months, government issued order
The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to completely ban the strike for the next six months. In this regard, Principal Secretary of Appointment and Personnel Department, M. Devraj has issued a notification and sent it to all the departments. According to the notification, this ban has been imposed under the Uttar Pradesh Maintenance of Essential Services Act 1966.
Why was this decision taken?
This order will be applicable to all offices, corporations and local bodies under the state government. The government says that this step has been taken keeping in mind the smooth running of essential services and public interest. As soon as the order comes into force, it will be prohibited to declare or participate in a strike in any department.
The ban was imposed earlier in June also
It is noteworthy that earlier in June, in view of the opposition to the privatization of the power system, a similar ban was imposed for six months. Now its duration has been extended.
