Cough Syrup Case: ED raids continue on 25 locations of cough syrup syndicate, action is going on in six cities including Lucknow.
Lucknow. In the Poisonous Cough Syrup Scandal Case in UP, Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams started raiding 25 locations of the syndicate from Friday morning itself. ED teams have raided locations in Lucknow, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Jaunpur, Saharanpur and Ranchi. At the same time, the premises of accused Alok Singh have also been raided in Lucknow.

Earlier, Suraj Mishra and Pritam Singh, two associates of Deepak Manwani, resident of Snehnagar, Krishnanagar, who were arrested on October 11 in connection with black marketing of Codeine-Containing Syrup, tablets, capsules and injections in Lucknow in the Cough Syrup Case, have been arrested by Krishnanagar Police. Aarush Saxena, an associate of the accused in this case, has not been caught yet. The police team is searching for him.
Syrups containing codeine were recovered in large quantities
ACP Krishnanagar Rajneesh Verma said that on October 11, a joint team of Drugs Department and Police raided the house of Snehnagar resident Deepak Manwani and recovered a huge quantity of Codeine-Containing Syrup, tablets, capsules and injections. While arresting the accused Deepak, the police had also filed a report in Krishnanagar Police Station. During interrogation, Deepak had revealed that he used to buy the said medicine from Suraj and Pritam and sell it to drug addicts. Accused Suraj and Pritam were also made accused. Police teams were searching for both of them.
On Thursday, Krishnanagar Police arrested Suraj Mishra, a resident of Madianv Faizullaganj, and Pritam Singh, a resident of Badshahnagar in the metropolis, from Baikunth Dham VIP Road. Accused Suraj is originally a resident of Atria Sadanpur in Sitapur and he has a medicine agency named New Mangalam Ayurvedic. Accused Pritam is originally a resident of Badi Raja, Bahraich. He works in Family Restaurant Purnia.
