Expressway will connect 7 districts of Bihar, great news for the people!

Patna. A big initiative is being taken towards modernizing the infrastructure in Bihar. The state’s first high-speed road network, Amas-Darbhanga Expressway (NH-119D), is rapidly taking shape. This six-lane access-controlled national highway, being built under the Bharatmala project, is going to prove to be an important route connecting the north and south parts of Bihar.

189 km long modern highway

This expressway will start from Amas in Gayaji district and will be built till Darbhanga, whose total length will be about 189 kilometers. According to NHAI, about 40% of the construction work in the Patna to Gaya section has been completed. The target is to have the entire project ready by March 2026.

This project is being prepared by dividing it into four packages at an estimated cost of about Rs 5,000 crore. After construction, this highway will not only ease the traffic but will also give a new direction to trade, employment and tourism in the surrounding areas.

Which districts will get the benefit?

This expressway will connect a total of 7 major districts. Which includes Aurangabad, Gayaji, Jehanabad, Patna, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga. Travel between these districts will become much easier and faster than before.

Tourism will get a new direction

This expressway will also connect Bodhgaya Mahabodhi Temple and Gaya Airport to the highway network. This will give impetus to religious tourism and it will be easier for tourists to reach here. This will provide connectivity to three airports. In which Gaya Airport, Patna Airport and Darbhanga Airport will get better connectivity.

Both time and distance will be reduced

The total distance from Gayaji to Darbhanga is currently considered to be around 210 kilometers. After the new expressway, this journey can be completed in 2 to 2.5 hours, due to which there will be a huge saving of time in Patna-Darbhanga and Gaya-Darbhanga journeys.
