Pankaj Chaudhary is a strong leader coming from the areas around Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, especially Maharajganj. He belongs to the Kurmi community and being an OBC face in UP, his influence in the party is considered important. His political journey started in 1989 when he entered politics by winning the election of councilor for Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation. Since then he has held many responsibilities in both the party and the organization.
Lok Sabha and post of Union Minister
Pankaj Chaudhary has been elected MP from Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency seven times and since 1991, he has won this seat several times. Although he had to face defeat in 1999 and 2009, he has been winning continuously since 2014. Presently Pankaj Chaudhary is working on the post of Minister of State for Finance in the Ministry of Finance in the Central Government. He is also known for his disciplined behavior and decent image in the party and organization.

According to the 2024 Lok Sabha election affidavit, he has assets worth more than Rs 41 crore, which include agricultural land, residential and commercial properties. Process to become State President and possible nomination
The tenure of the current state president Bhupendra Chaudhary in the UP organization of BJP has ended and after this the process of selection of the new president is going on. The nomination process will be completed on 13 December and the result can be announced on 14 December. If there is only one nomination then BJP’s central election in-charge will consider it as final.
Apart from Pankaj Chaudhary, names of some other leaders are also in discussion, but keeping in mind the long organizational experience and social equation, Pankaj Chaudhary is being considered as the main contender. In this way, he can soon assume his role as the new state president of Uttar Pradesh BJP.
