Big success for police in Delhi’s blind murder case, special cell arrested the accused after 26 days
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has achieved great success in solving a blind and very sensational murder case. After an intensive operation that lasted for 26 days, the police arrested 23-year-old accused Ashish.
This matter came to light on 16 November 2025, when Ankit, an 18-year-old youth from Gulabi Bagh area suddenly went missing under mysterious circumstances. After several days of search, his body was recovered from Mundka Canal in Bawana, which was initially very difficult to identify.
What is the whole matter?
According to the police, investigation was started after Ankit’s missing complaint was registered, but no concrete clue was found in the initial days. Meanwhile, information was received about the body of an unknown youth being found in a canal in Bawana area. The condition of the dead body was so bad that its identification was not immediately possible. After this, the Special Cell team did a thorough analysis of the data of missing person cases and unidentified bodies, in which an important link emerged between Ankit’s disappearance and the body found in the canal.
Taking the investigation forward, the police took the help of electronic surveillance, call detail records and technical inputs. During continuous surveillance on December 11, information was received that murder accused Ashish had been seen around Ghevra-Kanjhawala road. Acting immediately on this input, the Special Cell laid a trap in the area and arrested the accused. After his arrest, during interrogation, Ashish confessed the entire story of the murder.
The accused murdered Ankit with a sharp weapon
During police interrogation, the accused told that he worked as a driver and helper and he already knew Ankit. Some time ago, there was a serious dispute between the two regarding some issue, which gradually turned into rivalry. Due to this enmity, Ashish conspired to murder Ankit. On the evening of 16 November, he called Ankit to Tikri Kalan area and killed him there by attacking him with a heavy sharp weapon.
Many cases are registered against the accused in Haryana also
After the murder, with the intention of destroying the evidence, the accused tied the hands, legs and mouth of the body with a rope and threw it in the Mundka Canal located in Bawana. Police said that Ashish is not a new criminal. Serious cases like assault and attempt to murder have already been registered against him in Sampla police station area of Rohtak district of Haryana.
At present, Delhi Police has taken the accused into custody and has started further legal action. Police officials say that this case is an excellent example of technical investigation and teamwork, due to which a complex blind murder could be solved.
