Kolkata: Footballer Lionel Messi unveils his 70 feet statue virtually Gujarati
New Delhi: Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi unveiled his 70-foot statue virtually. This statue is located near Big Ben and the statue of Diego Maradona in Kolkata. There was a huge crowd of fans at the statue site. During this time, great enthusiasm was seen among the fans present near the statue. The fans were chanting ‘Messi-Messi’. Lionel Messi has also met Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. Earlier, Lionel Messi reached Kolkata airport at around 3 in the morning. At that time there was a huge crowd of fans at the airport. From the airport to the hotel, fans on both sides of the road were eager to get a glimpse of Messi. Amidst heavy security, he was taken to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Room number 730 is reserved for Messi. Moreover, from security point of view the entire seventh floor is reserved.
Messi’s next event is at Salt Lake Stadium. They have to play a friendly match. After this he will honor the Santosh Trophy team of Bengal. Lionel Messi is also scheduled to meet with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and veteran tennis player Leander Paes. After Kolkata, Messi will leave for Hyderabad. In Hyderabad also he will participate in an exhibition match organized at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
