‘Kejriwal period’ The condition of Delhi has become worse than this! AQI crossed 440, then Grape-IV was implemented

Delhi Air Pollution: Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached its worst level. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s AQI reached 441 on Saturday. This is the worst AQI recorded this year. Earlier in November, there were three days when the index was above 400, which falls in the serious category.

Now once again pollution has increased. This is the fourth day in the serious category. AQI remains above 400 in most areas of Delhi. This is the worst level of AQI in Delhi, after which GRAP-IV has been implemented in the national capital and NCR region.

Pollution broke the record of the year

Earlier on November 11, Delhi’s AQI was 428. This was the most polluted day of the year, but today’s figures have broken that record. With an AQI of 441 on Saturday, people of Delhi faced the most poisonous air of the year. On November 12 the index was 418, and on November 13 it was 404. This means that this is the fourth day this year when the air quality is in the severe category.

AQI crosses 400 in most areas

Data from the Central Pollution Control Board shows that AQI was recorded above 400 in most areas of Delhi. By 4 pm, AQI was above 450 in 15 areas of Delhi. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe, while an index between 451 and 500 is considered very severe.

The situation has worsened since Kejriwal’s era!

Last day i.e. on Friday, Delhi’s AQI was 349. There has been a rapid increase of 82 points in the last 24 hours. There is a layer of dust and smoke in the atmosphere of Delhi. It is being said that the situation is worse than during the time of Kejriwal government, because earlier relief from pollution used to start by mid-December.

No hope of relief in next few days

The wind speed in Delhi is usually less than ten kilometers per hour. With increasing cold, it is causing pollution particles to remain suspended in the atmosphere for longer periods. According to experts, the people of Delhi are unlikely to get any respite from polluted air for the next three to four days.

Why is pollution continuously increasing in Delhi?

Experts say that pollution is increasing rapidly due to low wind speed, dust and smoke. Smoke from vehicles, dust from roads and construction sites, and burning of solid waste and biomass are also increasing pollution. The main reason for this is the slow speed of wind, due to which the pollutant particles are not able to spread.

At 3 pm on Saturday, the average level of PM10 in Delhi-NCR was 425 and the average level of PM2.5 was 258 micrograms per cubic meter. Air is considered healthy only when the level of PM10 is less than 100 and the level of PM2.5 is less than 60. In this way, the amount of pollutant particles in the air of Delhi is four times more than the prescribed limit.
