8th Pay Commission: New salary for grade pay 1900?

New Delhi. These days, the only discussion in government offices across the country is how much the salary of central employees will increase after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. In this era of inflation, every employee is expecting an increase in his/her earnings. About 50.14 lakh central employees and about 69 lakh pensioners are currently closely awaiting the recommendations of the Commission.

The commission’s job is not just to increase salaries.

The 8th Pay Commission is headed by retired Justice Ranjana Desai. The job of the commission is not only to recommend a wage increase but also to ensure what impact it will have on the country’s economy. The Commission also has to make a detailed study of the service conditions including basic pay, different allowances, pension rules and retirement benefits. The government has given the commission 18 months to submit its report.

Expected salary of grade pay 1900

According to the calculations so far, there may be a big change in the salary of employees with grade pay 1900 on the basis of fitment factor. If fitment factor 1.92 is applied, the basic salary will be Rs 54,528. By adding HRA of Rs 13,086 and TA of Rs 3,600, the gross salary becomes Rs 71,215. After NPS and CGHS deduction, employees will get approximately Rs 65,512.

If the fitment factor is fixed at 2.57, the basic salary will reach Rs 72,988. The net salary after all allowances and deductions will be around Rs 86,556. Although this is an estimate right now, complete information will be available only after the official announcement by the government.

Economic and employee outlook

The recommendations of the Commission will not only be a relief to the employees, but will also impact the government exchequer. Therefore the Commission is carefully considering every aspect. Both employees and pensioners are currently waiting for the report of the Commission with hope and curiosity.
