SRH can target these 4 players in IPL 2026 auction
Sunrisers Hyderabad is entering the IPL 2026 auction with a purse of Rs 25.5 crore and 10 slots and the team has made a big change this time by trading Mohammed Shami to LSG.
SRH have released some important spots in their squad by releasing Adam Zampa, Rahul Chahar, Abhinav Manohar and many other players, which will be very important to fill. The core of the team is as strong as before, which includes names like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, Pat Cummins and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Despite this, SRH needs a strong finisher, an Indian spinner who can take wickets in the middle overs and a reliable fast bowler. For this reason, some players may be on the team’s radar whom they can definitely target in the mini auction.
SRH can target these 4 players in IPL 2026 auction
1. Andre Russell
SRH’s top order is very strong, but the team often lacks a match-finishing player. Andre Russell is the best option to fill this gap, as he will be available in the auction after being released by KKR. Russell has the ability to change the match even in difficult situations and as a power hitter at number 6 or 7, he can make SRH’s batting more dangerous.
His record in the IPL also proves his impact, where he has scored 2651 runs at a strike rate of 174.17 and has also taken 123 wickets. His best performance of 5 wickets is 5/15 and this shows that he will prove to be useful for SRH in bowling as well as batting.
2. Matt Henry
After Mohammed Shami’s departure from the team, SRH needs a reliable strike bowler and Matt Henry can fit into this role. This New Zealand fast bowler has shown excellent form in the last one year and has the skill to take wickets continuously with the new ball. SRH can strengthen the powerplay with his help and can also use him as a backup to Pat Cummins.
Even though Henry has less experience in IPL, he has participated in 6 matches in which he has taken 2 wickets and his best was 1/28. The economy of 10.65 has been a bit expensive, but looking at his consistency at the international level, SRH may consider him an important option in their fast bowling unit.
3. Ravi Bishnoi
SRH have released both Adam Zampa and Rahul Chahar, leaving the spin department quite weak. In such a situation, Ravi Bishnoi can prove to be an important purchase for the team as he has been consistently performing effectively in the IPL. His fast-spinning leg spin and accurate googly prove to be a great weapon for taking wickets in the middle overs.
Bishnoi’s IPL record is also strong in which he has played 77 matches since 2020 and has taken 72 wickets. His best is 3/24 and he bowls at an economy of 8.22. His consistency can give SRH a reliable Indian spinner for a long time.
4. Akash Madhwal
SRH has made many changes in the Indian fast bowlers and after releasing Shami, this department has become a bit weak. Aakash Madhwal is the player who fills this gap and is known for his yorkers and precise lines in the death overs. He will be available in the mini auction after being released by Rajasthan Royals and SRH can take advantage of his experience and skill set.
Madhwal has played 17 matches in the IPL so far and has taken 23 wickets, while his economy has been 10.05. He has performed well in important matches for both Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals and can play a vital role in strengthening SRH’s Indian pace attack.
