Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary will be the new President of UP BJP, Piyush Goyal will make formal announcement on Sunday.

Lucknow, 13 December. Union Minister of State for Finance and seven-time MP from Maharajganj, Pankaj Chaudhary will be the new president of Uttar Pradesh BJP. Chaudhary was the only candidate to file nomination papers in the election process for the post of President that started on Saturday at the state BJP headquarters. Since no one else filed nomination against him, his election was confirmed unopposed. Now Central Election Officer and Union Minister Piyush Goyal will formally announce the name of Pankaj Choudhary as the state BJP president along with finalizing the election process on Sunday.

CM Yogi Adityanath became the proposer of Pankaj Chaudhary

Among the proposers of Pankaj Chaudhary, there is one Thakur, one Brahmin, one Parsi, two Bhumihars, two Dalits and three OBCs. The proposers included Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Smriti Irani, current state president Swatantra Dev Singh, Surya Pratap Shahi, AK Sharma, Dara Singh Chauhan, Kamlesh Paswan and Aseem Arun.

Started political career as councilor in Gorakhpur

61-year-old Pankaj Choudhary, who started politics by contesting the election of Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation councilor in 1989 and reached the rank of minister in the central government, said from the nomination that BJP MPs, MLAs and Legislative Council members have been called today. Election of State President is to be held, everyone has been called for it. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the party office at 1 pm, where the workers welcomed him enthusiastically by chanting ‘Prabhu Ram’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’. Chaudhary will be the fourth BJP president from Kurmi caste in UP.

Pankaj Chaudhary will be the fourth BJP state member from Kurmi caste. Before this, three Kurmi – Vinay Katiyar, Swatantra Dev Singh and Om Prakash Singh have held the post of president.

Nomination for 80 posts of National Council also

Nominations for 80 posts of the National Council were also done on Saturday itself. Smriti Irani has also nominated in this. Apart from this, Dara Singh Chauhan, Sadhvi Nirjan Jyoti, Ajay Mishra Teni have filed nominations. Apart from this, other leaders also filed nominations. All these people will be voters in the election of the national president.

Former MP and former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti reached the BJP office around 12 noon. Nirjan Jyoti said, ‘The organization festival is going on, I have come to participate in it. I have no expectations, I have just come to the party office to attend the organization function.
