BJP called an important meeting with Manipur MLAs in New Delhi!
Speculations about the formation of a new government in Manipur are increasing. A large number of Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs and leaders are demanding that the party form the next government. In such a situation, this meeting to be held on Sunday is considered very important politically.
Former Chief Minister N. Confirming Sunday’s meeting in the national capital, Biren Singh had earlier said that the central leadership has directed every BJP MLA from the state to attend the meeting.
On the occasion of the 86th Nupi Lal Day, he said that although no formal agenda has been given for the proposed meeting, there is a possibility of discussions related to forming the new government.
“BJP MLAs have been called to Delhi to review the situation in Manipur. We have not been told the exact agenda of the meeting, but it may include government formation,” he told the media.
Conflict-torn Manipur is under President’s rule since February 13, which is headed by N. It came into effect four days after Biren Singh’s resignation from the post of Chief Minister. The tenure of the 60-member state assembly, which has been suspended after the imposition of President’s rule, is till 2027.
Last month, for three days, two senior BJP leaders met with National General Secretary (Organization) B. l. Santosh and the party’s Northeast coordinator Sambit Patra had gone to Manipur and held several meetings with state party leaders and MLAs, sparking speculation about the possible formation of a new government in the northeastern state.
Let us inform that in October, 26 BJP MLAs including Biren Singh had met Santosh and Patra in New Delhi and urged them to “form a popular government” in Manipur.
Former Chief Minister Biren Singh recently said that all BJP MLAs in Manipur are united in their efforts to form a popular government in the state.
