Billy Crystal, Larry David visit Rob Reiner’s Brentwood home after homicide news
In the hours following the shocking death of legendary filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, several close friends were seen arriving at the couple’s Los Angeles home, underscoring the deep personal loss felt across Hollywood.
According to PEOPLE, actors Billy Crystal and Larry David were present at Rob Reiner’s Brentwood, California, residence shortly after reports emerged that the couple had been found dead in what authorities are investigating as an apparent homicide. A source confirmed that Crystal, 77, and David, 78, arrived separately at the home on the night of Sunday, December 14.
Neighbors told local outlet ABC 7 Los Angeles that Billy Crystal appeared visibly shaken. One neighbor described the actor as looking “like he was about to cry,” reflecting the emotional weight of the moment as friends gathered in disbelief.
Rob Reiner shared long-standing personal and professional ties with both men. He famously collaborated with Billy Crystal on some of the most beloved films in Hollywood history, including When Harry Met Sally, This Is Spinal Tapand The Princess Bride. Reiner also appeared on Larry David’s hit HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasmfurther cementing their close friendship over the years.
Authorities say the Los Angeles Fire Department received a call at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday to provide medical assistance at a home in the Brentwood neighborhood. Upon arrival, first responders found a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman dead. The victims were later identified as Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Multiple sources told PEOPLE that the couple was killed by their son, Nick. Investigators also confirmed that the bodies were first discovered by the Reiners’ daughter, Romy, before emergency services were alerted.
