Real Madrid plot defensive reinforcements as Dalot and this centre-back emerge as key targets
Real Madrid are reportedly stepping up their plans to strengthen their defence ahead of the upcoming season, with Bayern Munich centre-back Dayot Upamecano and Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot emerging as major targets.
According to reports, Los Blancos have reached a verbal agreement with Upamecano and are prepared to meet all his personal terms, with negotiations said to be progressing through his agent, Santi Aouna. While no official bid has been submitted to Bayern Munich yet, the development suggests that Real Madrid are serious about adding another elite centre-back to their ranks.
Upamecano, 26, has been a key figure for Bayern over the past few seasons, known for his physicality, pace, and ability to play out from the back. With concerns over injuries and squad depth in central defence, Real Madrid see the French international as an ideal long-term solution who can immediately compete for a starting role at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In addition to Upamecano, Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese defender has been linked with a potential exit from Manchester United, with reports suggesting that the Premier League club could be open to selling him under the right conditions.
