The Modi government has handed over the investigation into the attack to the NIA. who has now filed a chargesheet. In June this year, the Army arrested two persons who harbored terrorists. In July, Operation Mahadev was launched, in which terrorists involved in the attack were killed. Parvez Ahmed, a resident of Batkot, and Bashir Jothar of Pahalgam were arrested by the NIA. The attackers identified themselves as Pakistanis associated with the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

This is the first chargesheet filed by the NIA in the Pahalgam terror attack case after nearly 180 days of intensive investigation. More revelations are expected in the coming days as the investigation progresses, after which the NIA may file a supplementary chargesheet.
