Patna. Bihar government has taken an important step towards making sugarcane farmers self-reliant and technically strong. Farmers cultivating sugarcane in the state are now going to get huge relief on purchasing modern agricultural equipment. Under the Sugarcane Mechanization Scheme, the government is providing up to 50 percent subsidy to farmers on the purchase of agricultural equipment. The application process for this scheme has started and its last date has been fixed as 26 December 2025.
Main objective of the scheme
The objective of this scheme is to encourage sugarcane production, reduce the cost of cultivation and increase the productivity of farmers through modern technologies. Mechanization will speed up farming operations, reduce dependence on labor and also save time. This is expected to increase the total income of farmers.
How much subsidy will you get?
Farmers involved in sugarcane cultivation can get up to 50% subsidy on purchasing agricultural equipment under this scheme. This grant will be given directly by the state government. The Sugarcane Industry Department has appealed to the farmers to apply online in time.
How many machines does a farmer need?
Under this scheme, a farmer can avail subsidy on maximum three agricultural implements. Separate applications will have to be made for each instrument, that is, the farmer can make three separate applications.
How to apply online?
The application for Sugarcane Mechanization Scheme has been placed completely online. Interested farmers can apply through Cane Care portal. Under this scheme, farmers can apply for only one acre or half acre of land. While applying, it is mandatory to upload all the required documents correctly.
