Lionsgate has shared the final trailer for The Housemaidthe upcoming thriller led by Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, Mank) as Nina and Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone But You) as Millie. The movie is finally set to premiere in theaters this Friday, December 19, 2025.
“The film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina and Andrew Winchester,” reads the official synopsis. “But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.”

The video offers the audience a glimpse of the crazy things and insane twists that will happen in the movie, which is being described as a wildly entertaining thriller. It also shows off some of the movie’s positive reviews from critics, who were able to watch an early screening. Joining Sweeney and Seyfried are Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us), Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favor), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Megan Ferguson (Gossip Girl), Ellen Tamaki (Manifest), Indiana Elle (Lessons in Chemistry), and more.
The Housemaid is directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, based on Freida McFadden’s 2022 bestselling novel of the same name. In addition to leading the cast, Sweeney and Seyfried are also executive producing alongside McFadden, Alex Young, and Will Greenfield. The movie is produced by Feig, Todd Lieberman, and Laura Fischer.
