Center being built in Neelum district…Lashkar-e-Taiba’s new conspiracy in POK, intelligence agencies in alert mode
New Delhi : The rapid expansion of terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) has raised serious concerns among intelligence agencies. Satellite images and topographic photos have revealed that a new "Dual-use facility" is being built. This center will not only serve religious purposes but will also serve as a command and control center for terrorist activities. With this step, an alert has been issued regarding the possibility of further increase in the hold of terrorist organizations in the area.
Jamia Masjid Ibn Taymiyya and Markaz
According to sources, since November, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has accelerated the construction of this new center “Jamia Masjid Ibn Taymiyya and Markaz”. The purpose of this center is apparently to function as both a religious structure and a terrorist command center. Intelligence agencies say that LeT’s PoK unit deputy Rizwan Hanif recently visited and inspected the site, which highlights the strategic importance of this project.
Construction of four big Markaz in PoK
According to intelligence sources, this center is one of the four major marks being built by LeT in PoK. The other three centers are Dhirkot, Bagh; Khaigala, Rawalakot; And under construction in Palandari, Sudhnoti. This makes it clear that LeT plans to expand its organizational and ideological influence across the region and shift a major part of its resources to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Strategic importance and strategy of the centers
LeT’s strategy is to keep terrorist operations secure and hidden by creating many small structures rather than large centralized centers. Rawalakot area has also become a major construction hub of terrorist infrastructure. Many launchpads were destroyed in the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor. Now LeT is preparing new launchpads at these places in the name of mosques.
Al-Aqsa Markaz, the Launchpad Masquerade
According to sources, a huge building is being built in Khaigla area of Rawalakot which is being called Al-Aqsa Markaz. It is being shown as a mosque, but in reality it will act as a terrorist launchpad. PoK’s LeT spokesperson Aamir Zia recently released a video in which he mistakenly called it a Markaz instead of a mosque, highlighting its dual-use nature. Such projects reflect the breadth and depth of terrorist networks in PoK. Intelligence agencies are keeping a close watch on this activity and are maintaining vigilance to prevent possible threats.
