Mohan Lal was born on 21 May 1960 in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. Mohanlal’s first film was the Malayalam language movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal’ released in 1980. In his acting career of more than 40 years, Mohanlal has worked in more than 400 films. Apart from Malayalam cinema, he has also made his mark in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. Mohanlal was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the year 2025. He has been honored with the country’s two major civilian honours, Padma Shri (in 2001) and Padma Bhushan (in 2019). Mohanlal has also been honored with the National Award 5 times and many other awards.
