Abhishek Sharma claims- Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill will prove to be match winners in T20 World Cup.

New Delhi. Team India’s opening batsman and number one T20 batsman Abhishek Sharma is confident that Team India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill will prove to be match winners in the T20 World Cup 2026. Surya and Gill’s form has been poor in T20 International cricket for quite some time now, but Abhishek Sharma has claimed that both these veteran batsmen will score runs for the team when it is most needed.

In the ongoing five-match T20 series against South Africa, Surya has scored only 29 runs in 3 matches and Gill has scored only 32 runs in 3 matches. However, Team India is currently leading 2-1 in the series. Team India won the third T20 match played in Dharamshala. Even in this low scoring match, Surya failed, while Gill played a slow innings. However, Abhishek Sharma is not worried about the poor form of Suryakumar and Gill before the next edition of the T20 World Cup starting from February 7.

Abhishek Sharma, who played a brilliant innings of 35 runs in 18 balls in Dharamshala, said in the post-match press conference, “Let me tell you one thing clearly, believe me, these two boys will win matches in the (T20) World Cup and in the other series before that too. I have been playing with them for so long, especially with Shubman, so I know where he can win the match, no matter the conditions and no matter the team. I am confident in that. But there is a lot of confidence right from the beginning and I hope everyone will see it very soon and everyone will have confidence.”

I am not out of form- Surya
Suryakumar Yadav, who was out after scoring 12 runs in the third T20 match, said, “The thing is that I am batting very well in the nets. I am trying everything which is under my control. When runs have to be scored, they will definitely be scored, but yes, I am trying to score runs, I am not out of form, but yes, runs are not being scored.” The fourth match of the series is to be played on Wednesday 17 December in Lucknow.
