During a dignified ceremony organized in the ‘Samvad’ room located at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 1284 newly appointed AYUSH doctors. On this occasion, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The main objective of this program organized by the Health Department is to further strengthen the health services of the state and to make traditional medical methods available to the people. During this, he suddenly pulled down the hijab covering the face of the Muslim AYUSH doctor wearing a burqa. Everyone present there was surprised by this sudden step of Nitish Kumar. The video of this entire incident has gone viral. On Monday in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar removed the hijab of a female doctor Nusrat Parveen from his hand while giving appointment letters to AYUSH doctors.

The Chief Minister first gave the appointment letter to Nusrat. After this they started looking at him. The woman also smiled after seeing the Chief Minister. Pointing towards the hijab, the CM asked, what is this? The woman replied, sir, it is hijab. CM said remove it. After this the Chief Minister himself removed Gahila’s hijab with his own hands. The woman became uncomfortable for a while. The people present around started laughing. The officials present at the program again handed over the appointment letter to the woman and signaled her to leave. The woman again came from there.

While giving a sense of duty to the newly appointed doctors, Shri Nitish Kumar said that only your spirit of service will fulfill the government’s resolve of “development with justice”. He urged the doctors to go to remote areas and serve the patients with full devotion and dedication. The Chief Minister directed the department to further strengthen the infrastructure of AYUSH colleges so that Bihar remains a leading state in the field of medical education.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also mentioned the past work done by the state government in the health sector. He told how in the last few years there has been a historic increase in the number of hospitals, availability of medicines and recruitment of medical personnel. He clarified that the contribution of AYUSH doctors is not limited to treatment only, but they will also play an important role in spreading awareness about lifestyle diseases.
