Who is Romy Reiner? Daughter of Rob Reiner who first discovered her parents dead
Romy Reiner, the daughter of filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer-producer Michele Singer Reiner, was the first to discover her parents dead inside their Los Angeles home, multiple sources told PEOPLE.
Romy, 27, is the youngest daughter of the couple, who shared three children — Jake, Nick and Romy — in addition to Rob’s adopted daughter, Tracy Reiner, from his first marriage to Penny Marshall.
According to sources, Romy was the one who entered the Brentwood residence on Sunday, December 14, and found her parents unresponsive before emergency services were called. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded around 3:30 p.m. and found a man and woman dead, who were later identified as Rob, 78, and Michele, 68.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as homicides. Multiple reports indicate the couple were killed by their son, Nick Reiner.
Romy, a photographer and creative artist like her mother, has largely stayed out of the public eye but often shared glimpses of her family life on social media. She is known for her artistic photography work and collaborations within the entertainment community.
Rob Reiner — the award-winning actor, director and son of comedy legend Carl Reiner — and Michele Singer were married for 35 years before their tragic deaths. Their daughter Romy remains central to the family’s story now, as the one who made the heartbreaking discovery that alerted authorities to the double homicide.
